noted curmudgeon and patron saint of tipplers, W.C. Fields (William Claude Dukenfield) was born on 29Jan1880 and died 25Dec1946. as a way to break up the winter blahs, we would like to celebrate this oft-charicatured, highly influential comedian who was all to happy to show us the dark side of ourselves. i think this calls for a beer run.
meet up in the northern section of tricity brewing (the relatively newly renovated "garage" area on the right as you face the brewery) where we'll get some positive vibes from mother francis. then we'll pound a beer, do a lap around the block (~1.5 miles), have another beer at the meeting place, take another lap, have another beer at the meeting place, and take a final lap. runners, walkers, ruckers, dogs, and sailors are welcome to attend. i am guessing this will take about 90 min to get everyone back in. if people feel compelled to cut the course short, that is very ok. this is meant to be amusement while getting your blood moving a little. at the end, we'll have pizza and one of Field's classics queued up to watch: _it's a gift_.
i'll see if we can get some stickers to commemorate this event as well.
date/time: 25Jan, 12.30pm
money: $18 to cover the cost of the brew. $12 if you are a minor or teetotaler to cover the cost of the root beer. if you want to round up to $20 / $15, that'll keep me from rooting around for change and the extra will go towards the tip for whoever TCB sends out to deal with us.
course: shrestha to wilder to n. euclid to shrestha. i'll post a map in the discussion tab.
movie: _it's a gift_ (1934), runtime of 68 minutes.
