Instructor Level Course. This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of using a red dot sight on a handgun. This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to utilize the sighting system to demonstrate fundamentals in marksmanship and handgun manipulation in the field. Day 1 is the following below from 1 – 8 / Day 2 is 9 & 10
Safety Policy / Orientation
Moral Obligations (.5 Hour)
Use of Force Considerations (1 Hour)
Policy and / or Legal Standards (1 Hour)
Sight Alignment, Trigger Control, Accuracy ( .5 Hour)
Target Recognition and Analysis (.5 Hour )
Weapons Clearing / Manipulations (.5 Hour)
Live Fire Positions / Marksmanship ( 4 Hours)
Basic Tactical Firearms Situations, Judgement and Decision-Making Exercise(s) ( 6 Hours)
Range Exercise / Student Evaluation / Testing (1.5 Hours)
What Each Student needs for this course.
500 rounds pistol ammunition (FMJ OK must be as close to duty ammo weight as possible)
Service Pistol w/minimum of three (3) pistol magazines Complete Duty Belt
Personal Protective Equipment (eye & hearing) Gun cleaning kit for weapon system
Note taking ( Paper, Laptop, Pen)
