Take flight in one of cinema’s most iconic achievements: Wings (1927), the first film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Set against the backdrop of the First World War, this silent masterpiece tells a story of courage, loss, and soaring ambition through spectacular aerial sequences and moving human drama.
In the majestic surroundings of Bath Abbey, this special screening will be accompanied live on organ by acclaimed composer and performer Dr Rebekah Okpoti, known as The Girly Organist. Her daring and emotive scoring gives new resonance to this classic of silent cinema.
As part of the evening, audiences will also experience the Peace Dove art installation, filling the Abbey with a breathtaking sense of hope and remembrance—perfectly echoing the themes of the film.
Advance booking essential. This is a one-night-only event not to be missed.
