"And the weakness you played on was my overpowering love for you?"
"You can put it that way, if you like."
Welcome to our October social, Terence Rattigan's diptych 'Table by the Window' and 'Table Number Seven' best known as their collective title 'Separate Tables'. This is the second in our series of play readings hosted by friends of the RTC so say a warm hallo to Adam Elms!
First performed in 1954, this duology dives eloquently into the topics of love, loss and loneliness with a pathos masterfully realised with sincerity and comedy. Whether you're familiar with Rattigan's works or not, you're in for a treat with these two short plays where, unlike the guests at the Beauregard Hotel, we'll not ask you to sit at separate tables but invite you to a lovely night of theatre fun round the big table on the Rondo stage.
Everyone is welcome at our Social Play Readings, where we'll read the play in full, script in hand. There will be breaks to top up teas, discuss the text and dream up staging and casting! There's no pressure to read if you don't want to but everyone will get the chance to regardless of age/ gender/ etc.
If you think you might be late - come anyway! These events are very relaxed and we'd love for you to join us.
