Mala (garland) is a string of 108 prayer beads used for spiritual practices and traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism. Traditionally, mala beads are used as a counting tool for the recitation of sacred words— Mantras—in meditation. Today, mala are worn by many yogis as jewelry or as a sacred and devotional statement.
Discover the magic of the mala! Create your own wooden beaded mala and participate in a yoga practice to honor this sacred discipline.
In this workshop you will learn the history, symbology, and meaning of the 108 beads by:

• Learning how to hold the mala and count the beads.
