Genesee Chorale Presents “Letters From Father Christmas”
A Heartfelt Holiday Concert Exploring the Magic, Mystery, and Meaning of Christmastime
Batavia, NY — The Genesee Chorale is proud to present its 2025 holiday concert, Letters From Father Christmas, an imaginative and moving musical program built around a simple but profound question: What if Santa wrote us a letter? What would he say?
On Saturday, December 13 at 4:00 p.m., the Chorale will bring this idea to life at St. James Episcopal Church, located at 405 East Main Street, Batavia, NY.
Narrated by Jim Meahl, the performance unfolds through an original “letter from Father Christmas,” guiding the audience through a rich tapestry of festive themes: drifting snowscapes, the view from Santa’s sleigh, the colors and sounds of Christmas, the magic of childhood wonder, moments of loss and longing, nostalgia for Christmases past, and the enduring story of Christ’s birth - offering messages of hope, healing, and peace.
The concert will feature a warm blend of familiar carols and contemporary Christmas pieces, including: We Need a Little Christmas, Silver Bells, Where Are You Christmas?, Auld Lang Syne,
I Believe in Father Christmas.
These selections, along with others, create a musical journey inspired by the joys and complexities of the holiday season - inviting listeners of all ages to reflect, remember, and celebrate together.
