Mary Jo Whitman will guide audiences through her drawing process, from the beginning stages, demonstrating techniques such as blending, highlighting and shading along with a list of drawing kit essentials and some tips she’s learned along the way.
Light refreshments and cash bar available. All are welcome.
$5 fee for non-members.
Mary Jo Whitman is a multidisciplinary artist whose work includes large-scale public art installations, community murals, and sculpture. However drawing has always been her foundation. “Working on my first drawing in high school is when my love for art really started, “She says, “Between commissioned projects, I am usually working on another drawing.”
Whitman earned a Master’s degree in Critical Museum Studies from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts with a concentration in Sculpture and minor in Art History from The College at Brockport. In addition to her work as a freelance artist, she has taught drawing lessons to students of all ages over the years.
