Our next "Music & A Meal" House Concert will be with Phil Hurley on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Doors at 4pm, music at 5pm.
What is a Hummingbird Backyard House Concert?
It is a concert that happens in my backyard on a monthly basis. The requested donation of $25 goes directly to the musicians. I prepare a meal that you can enjoy prior to the concert and you can contribute if you'd like. This is a “listening” environment. There will be time before, after, and in between sets to socialize and mingle.
Things to bring: a comfortable chair (there are plenty of extras), practical shoes (because this in my wooded backyard, I don’t recommend sandals due to Fire Ants, Scorpions, and other outdoor creatures), mosquito spray, a light jacket, an umbrella (if it looks like it might drizzle). Please don't bring your pets. This is non-smoking.
About our Musician: Phil Hurley
Phil Hurley is an Americana artist based in Austin,
Texas who has been making music for forty years,
across genres and around the world.
Phil first began performing in bands at the tender
age of 8, and by 17 had a major-lable deal with his
band Giglo Aunts. He has toured extensively
throughout North America, Europe, the UK, Australia,
and Japan with groups including Giglo Aunts,
Fountains of Wayne, Tracy Bonham, and Jimmy
LaFave. Over the years, Phil has evolvde his
captivating live performance style to be at home on
festival, intimate listening rooms and everything in
between whether solo, or backed by a band.
With each new project, Phil digs deeper into
personal and universal themes of love, loss, place,
and resilience – crafting songs that feel fresh and
worn and timeless at any given moment.
Whether solo or band, electric or acoustic, Phil
Hurley carries the spirit of Americana with
authenticity, grit, grace and charm, telling the kinds
of stories that only a lifelong musician truly can.
