On the Sunday 22nd of March 2026, we are organizing our 17th walk to honor the men of the 17th Airborne Division. We will commemorate the 81st anniversary of their participation in the Battle of the Bulge.
This year, we will walk from the village of Champs to honor the 193rd Glider Infantry Regiment. On January 7, 1945, the 193rd GIR attacked from the vicinity of Mande-Saint-Etienne. That day, the 193rd GIR suffered 63 killed and many wounded. During the walk, we will pass through, among other places, the area of the fighting of the 2nd Bn / 193rd GIR between Champs and Flamisoul.
At the hall “Les Foyans” in Champs, the welcome desk will be open from 07:30. Start of the walk at 09:00. Ceremony at the monument at 09:20.
Family members of soldiers of the 17th Airborne will be present.
Several itineraries of your choice from 4 km (2.5 miles) to 15 km (9 miles).
Le dimanche 22 mars 2026, nous organisons notre 17e marche en hommage aux hommes de la 17th Airborne Division. Nous commémorerons le 81e anniversaire de leur participation à la Bataille des Ardennes.
Cette année, nous marcherons au départ du village de Champs pour honorer le 193rd Glider Infantry Regiment. Le 7 janvier 1945, le 193rd GIR attaqua au départ des environs de Mande-Saint-Etienne. Ce jour, le 193rd GIR eut 63 tués et de nombreux blessés. Lors de la marche, nous passerons entre autres dans le secteur des combats du 2nd Bn / 193rd GIR entre Champs et Flamisoul.
A la salle “ Les Foyans” à Champs, le bureau d’accueil sera ouvert à partir de 07h30. Départ de la marche à 09h00. Cérémonie au monument à 09h20.
