Options Plan for the Impossible
The goal is to run the event on Saturday 22 Nov wherever possible. Changing to Sunday may not always suit both the safety boat crews. Wind and swell will ultimately determine the priority ladder. The options in priority order will be:
1. Fishermans Beach to Barwon Heads – preferred wind WSW or 25 degrees either side.
2. Reverse Course – if wind ENE or 25 degrees either side.
3. Fishermans Beach to Barwon Heads - on any other base wind not mentioned above of 8 knots or less.
4. Transfer to Sunday if wind or swell over the limits as detailed in the RMP
5. Conduct the event on a 15km course on the Barwon River on Saturday if base winds are predicted or observed to be 25knot or above on both days.
