The tenth edition of the Impossible Ocean Paddle will take be conducted on Sat 22 November 2025, with 23rd as the back-up date. This date has been selected to ensure high tide at Barwon Heads when paddlers enter the river mouth.
This year we will be working under the auspice of the Ocean Paddling arm of Paddle Victoria and will be race 3 of the Victorian Ocean Paddling series. Two main advantages of this will be:
• A $24 discount for senior PA members and $12 for juniors
• All entrants in the series go into a draw for two Revo Kayaks $1000 vouchers.
As we will be conducting the event under PA terms, entries this year will go through Webscorer. Those who are new to this, will find it a little more complex than our usual system. Please give me a call if you encounter any problems.
On the entry, you will be asked for your estimated flat water race speed. This is to place paddlers into a starting wave that best represents your speed, rather than a craft type. We did this in 2020 working under Covid protocols and found the time from first finished to last was much more compact than at may races.
