Join this year's winter hike and witness the White Wonderland at the peak of Mt. Jackson. The hike will take place in the White Mountains forest of NH; via Webster Jackson trail.
The hike itself might be short (5 miles), but considering the elevation of 2,200 ft carrying winter gears in snowy, freezing, and/or windy conditions will make the hike challenging (be prepared).
Camping and sleeping overnight in your own winter sleeping bag will add to the experience. Staying at nearby mountain's motels/shelters are optional and will be available to those might be interested.
For those from the DC area, be prepared for an early long road trip (over 11 hours) before arriving to the trailhead area in the Crawford Notch Rd. Hart's, NH. You will be camping and relaxing that night to get ready for the following morning hike. Upon completing the hike we will head the road again for another 11 hours before arriving back home.
Gears and main items:
Snowshoes;
Microspikes;
Winter hiking goggles, for the heavy winds above the tree line section;
Sleeping bag (if camping);
Warmers (hands & feet);
Hiking Poles;
Waterproof hiking boots & socks;
Windshield pants and jacket.
Challenge your limits and consider joining!
