Designed for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and marketers, this knowledge/application-based program provides specialized training in veterinary pharmacology, regulatory compliance, and compounding accuracy. It also covers marketing strategies to help promote veterinary compounding services, supporting both patient care and business growth while fostering collaboration with veterinarians to ensure safe and effective use of compounded medications.
CONTENT:
The course will cover the fundamentals of veterinary compounding, emphasizing species-specific considerations, appropriate dosage forms, and effective flavoring techniques to improve patient compliance. Participants will gain hands-on compounding experience in a lab setting, practicing the formulation of medications tailored to the unique needs of animals. In addition, the program will address regulatory compliance and best practices, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local veterinary compounding laws. To support professional growth, marketing strategies will also be shared to help pharmacists effectively promote veterinary compounding services and expand their practice.
Upon completion of this course, you will receive a Pharmaceutical Compounding Certificate along with 15 hours (1.5 CEUs) of continuing education credits for your participation in the program.
