IDIOT BOX x BUMS present TV FACE with support from Dragged Up and Jonny Swift
Friday 24th October, 7.30pm
Rising noise-punk trio from Lancaster, TV FACE, serve “sonic fury with a satirical edge … blistering, genre-defying … both chaotic and meticulously tight” (HellaFuzz).
Their much anticipated second album, Wolf Rents Bark, was released on 5th September 2025 via Preston’s cult label Crackedankles Records — home to underground heavyweights including Evil Blizzard, Hotwax, and Polypores. The album has received rave reviews, including Album of the Week from Louder Than War, 5/5 stars from ThePunkSite.com and 9/10 from Mystic Sons.
Live, TV FACE are known for their high-intensity performances, “with dynamics ... not seen since the likes of Therapy? … in the early nineties” (Louder Than War). They are on tour throughout October and November, promoting the album.
DRAGGED UP
Formed in Glasgow in late 2018, Dragged Up incorporate elements of garage-psych, art-punk, and noise rock. They have self-released two albums, an EP and three singles, sometimes collaborating with non-profit labels Cruel Nature and Rare Vitamin. They have garnered acclaim from The Wire, SNACK mag, Record Collector and Louder Than War, and received notable airplay on Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone, Radio Free Brooklyn, KEXP and WFMU.
They’ve supported acts such as The Vaselines, Acid Mothers Temple, Charles Mootheart (Fuzz/Ty Segall Band) and The Bevis Frond. In June 2025, they toured with Stephen Malkmus’ new band The Hard Quartet throughout the EU and UK. They are currently working on material for their new album, which is expected for release in 2026.
“Their arty slack-punk attack has roots in the anorak era, but displays a much scummier surface than any of those poppers ever managed. Loose loud psych guitar gets woven into vocals with a certain paisley heft, but it's all presented without cliches. Very, very cool.” - Byron Coley, The Wire
“It's cack-handed but also learned. This tightrope walk of unpredictability and assuredness makes it a thrilling listen” - Alex Neilson, Moof Magazine
“Riding a relentless wave of restless creativity and blessed with a punishing knack for chaos and groove” Fran Carlyon, Heavy Metal Kids
“Like classic CBGBs proto-punk transplanted to rain-drenched Scottish streets." - Louder Than War
"Cool, expansive, nerve-wracking" - (Top 25 Albums of 2020) - Reverb is for Lovers
