Concert: Bridget Hayden / Spaceship

Two artists from the same town head our way to play at Piel View House. We are thrilled to welcome Bridget Hayden and Spaceship to the one bill.

Bridget Hayden:

Bridget Hayden is a Todmorden-based musician & rural conjurer noted for her participation with free-form noise rock acts such as Vibracathedral Orchestra, Schisms and Sunburned Hand of The Man.

More recently she released an album of traditional folk songs to critical acclaim and been found performing under various monikers related to the "Folklore Tapes" collective including "TV Terrorland" and "Echo of Light". Bridget’s solo output evokes the static-haze between words and worlds, often swinging from haunted folk songs to aching, yearning vocal abstractions; from drifting, swelling guitar to pulsating synthesizer: Ecstatic fire, paradoxically concussing and elucidating. Spaceship:

Mark S. Williamson is a musician, sound artist, film maker and educator based in Todmorden. He has been recording as Spaceship, on and off, for the last 30 years.

His work is often made in response to his environment, working on location, combining field recordings with electronic and acoustic instrumentation, usually recorded outside, amid the landscape and weather.
