First Friday: Cape Light Compact's Turnkey Model for Decarbonization

In February, the Cape Cod Technology Council is excited to welcome Cape Light Compact Energy Efficiency Analyst Stephen McCloskey who will share details about the Compact's new Cape & Vineyard Electrification Offering (CVEO).

CVEO is a comprehensive electrification and energy optimization program designed to improve energy affordability for low-and moderate-income residents of Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. The pilot program integrates home weatherization with the following technologies: cold-climate heat pumps, solar photovoltaics (PV), battery storage, and the installation of electric stoves to improve energy affordability and enhance demand response and flexibility.

This session will highlight how CVEO serves as a model for turnkey electrification/decarbonization that addresses the needs of underserved communities. Key topics include:

*Policy Consideration & Origin:: The journey from initial proposal (2018) to approval (2023) and the policy framework that shaped CVEO.

*Program Design and Implementation: A look at CVEO’s structure, from site assessments to completed installations.

*Scalability & Replication: Lessons learned, and challenges faced to help inform similar program designs.

*Evaluation and Feedback: Insight from program contractors and participants now that CVEO is complete.
