The West Barnstable Deer Club is hosting their annual Clam Bake Fundraiser this summer! This year, we will be having live entertainment by Funktapuss & Carly Teft, a raffle, a 50/50 and more!
The event will be on Sunday August 24th at the Club located at 1800 Old Stage Road, West Barnstable starting at noon!
You can’t hunt at the Deer Club anymore, but you can still have a whale of a good time! For over 70 years, the West Barnstable Deer Club has hosted public events and rents space for weddings, family gatherings, clambakes, car shows and more!
Each summer, the club puts on an authentic Cape Cod clambake! The day before the clambake, members of the Deer Club gather seaweed on the Cape Cod Canal, about 40 bushels of it, from the Sandwich side. It takes two or three trucks to transport the vegetation to the West Barnstable location – just south of the Service Road – to a pit made of real railroad tracks – steel tracks, not ties!
Tickets are $75.00 this year and include lobster, clams and clam chowder, raw bar, sausage, white and sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, and onions. The proceeds benefit the club and its outreach for local fundraisers for Cape Codders.
There’s also a cash bar!
And burgers and hotdogs are for sale if lobster isn’t your favorite.
