This winter we are holding a series of evening talks with the theme of examining the links between farming and nature. The talks, held at The Moorcock Inn in Eggleston, 7.30pm to 9pm, are open to farmers and landowners as well as members of the public. Each evening there will be an invited speaker with the opportunity of discussion afterwards.

At the third talk in our series, on Wednesday 26 November, local botanist John O’Reilly, who has been working alongside the Teesdale Special Flora Trust will discuss why are rare plants rare. Topics will include, how do rare plants differ from common plants? In particular, how do the Teesdale rare plants differ from other plants in County Durham, and how does this help us guide land management across Teesdale?
