Open Design Talks [04] → Toni Segarra + Juli Capella + Xavi Franquesa

Después del verano, el Open Design Editions retoma su ritmo con una doble pulsión: la producción de los diseños #ODE2025 y las conversaciones y fiestas Open Design Talks.

Este septiembre, en La Granja, reunimos a tres figuras que han marcado la manera de pensar y comunicar el diseño:

Toni Segarra: la máxima expresión de la creatividad aplicada a la marca. La mano a la que le gusta conducir, “be water, my friend”, la República Independiente de tu casa, “soy tu menstruación” y muchas otras ideas geniales han salido (o han pasado) por su mente.

Juli Capella: arquitecto y diseñador que articula espacio, sociedad, crítica y cultura con un rigor que inspira y provoca. Ceñirse a su currículum sería quedarnos con una versión demasiado reduccionista de esta mente dispersa y de imaginación desbordante.

Xavi Franquesa: diseñador, fundador y director creativo de Il·lacions, un escaparate esencial del diseño contemporáneo de autor, desde donde propone una lectura fresca e incisiva del panorama creativo actual.

Hablaremos de mercado, marca, industria y sociedad, pero sobre todo exploraremos la tensión entre pensamiento y acción. ¿Qué exige el mercado? ¿Hacia dónde se dirige la industria del diseño? Será una tarde para mirar más allá del producto, comprender la complejidad de nuestro tiempo y valorar el diseño como una herramienta estratégica para afrontar retos reales.

After the summer, the Open Design Editions is back in full swing with a dual focus: producing the #ODE2025 designs and hosting the Open Design Talks, our conversations and parties around design!

This September, at La Granja, we bring together three figures who have shaped the way design is thought and communicated:

Toni Segarra: the ultimate expression of creativity applied to branding. From “be water, my friend” to the "Independent Republic of Your Home” and countless other brilliant ideas, his mind has generated some of the most iconic creative work.

Juli Capella: architect and designer who connects space, society, critique, and culture with a rigor that both inspires and challenges. Limiting ourselves to his résumé would be reducing a wonderfully scattered and overflowing imagination to a narrow frame.

Xavi Franquesa: designer, founder, and creative director of Il·lacions, a key showcase of contemporary author-driven design, offering a fresh and incisive perspective on today’s creative landscape.

We’ll talk about market, brand, industry, and society.... but above all, we’ll explore the tension between thought and action. What does the market demand? Where is the design industry heading? It will be an evening to look beyond the product, understand the complexity of our times, and appreciate design as a strategic tool to tackle real-world challenges.
