AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) Course

The AMGA SPI Course is the industry standard for climbers who want to guide and instruct single-pitch rock climbing. This three-day program focuses on outdoor climbing techniques, risk management, and instructional methods for top-rope climbing and leading on single-pitch crags.

What You’ll Learn in the SPI Course:

• Building and evaluating traditional climbing anchors

• Belaying techniques and rappel management

• Lead climbing techniques and gear placement

• Risk assessment and rescue scenarios

• Teaching climbing skills to beginners and groups

Who Should Enroll in the SPI Course?

This course is designed for experienced climbers with at least 12 months of climbing experience, including 15 traditional lead climbs. If you’re ready to take your climbing skills to a professional level, this is the course for you.
