Join us for a hands-on mending workshop! Bring sewing supplies and an item in need of repair. Sally Kirkpatrick will guide the mending and share tips as well as Christian reflection on mending.
Think of this as a mending potluck: everyone brings an item in need of repair—along with any materials you have—and we share the work together. You won’t mend your own item; someone else will lovingly repair it for you, and you’ll mend something for another member of the community. At the end, everyone goes home with their own garment, renewed and wearable again!
Mending clothes isn’t just practical—it’s meaningful. Repairing what’s torn saves money, reduces waste, and creates something unique and beautiful. Even more, it reminds us of God’s grace: choosing restoration over discard, hope over despair. Just as we mend garments, God mends our brokenness and relationships, weaving new life into what seemed beyond repair.
No experience necessary—just a willing heart and a need for repair. If you don’t know how to fix something, someone else probably does, and we’ll help each other along the way.
