Beacons for Kids - Youth Grief Support Program

No child should grieve alone. To support young people navigating loss in the community, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is welcoming youngsters in Beacons for Kids, a youth grief support program beginning Wednesday, October 15 in Bangor.

The free, eight-week program, designed for young people aged 8 to 17 and their families, takes place on Wednesday evenings at All Souls Congregational Church, 10 Broadway in Bangor from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. The program will help participants explore common themes of grief, develop coping mechanisms, and find connection through shared experiences. It also supports caregivers; parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet in a separate group with their peers.

Stacey Coventry, director, Community Engagement, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center will co-facilitate the program with Rebekah Timms, a Spiritual Care volunteer at the medical center and pastor at All Souls.
