A whole weekend of steep ground and first time scrambling!
What is scrambling? Scrambling involves navigating mountain terrain where you need to use your hands to climb through steeper parts of the paths. These sections can vary, being either short and enjoyable or sometimes longer and a bit more challenging. To have an enjoyable and successful day on your chosen scramble, it's crucial to be able to move efficiently on the rock and choose the right routes to avoid getting stuck.
My beginner route selections combine some mountain terrain where paths meet short scramble sections, you will have the chance to get more hands on and be eased into the more challenging sections gradually. Grade 1 scrambles vary in difficulty and are tackled without the use of ropes or other safety equipment.
You must have a good level of fitness to participate, you will be required to make high steps and the descents can often be steep and tough on the legs.
Grade 1 srcambling is a mountaineering activity without the use of any ropes or additional safety equipment. (For more advanced scrambling up to grade 3 you will need to inquire about a bespoke course date with Paul Poole Mountaineering.)
