World Tourism Day, celebrated globally each year on 27th September, stands as a reminder of tourism’s immense power to drive economic growth, cultural exchange, and sustainable development.

In 2025, the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformations” inspires communities to embrace tourism as a force for innovation, equity, and ecological responsibility.
Carrying this vision forward, the 2027 Batch of the Department of Tourism Management at Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) proudly launches “THRIVE”, a three-day community upliftment initiative in Ethiliwewa, a scenic yet underserved village in the Monaragala District, Sri Lanka.

THRIVE goes far beyond raising tourism awareness; it is designed as a transformative celebration that combines education, empowerment, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability.
