Canned Pineapple Join Independent Venue Week at The Apothecary Tap.
Brighton quintet Canned Pineapple will perform at The Apothecary Tap as part of Independent Venue Week (IVW), taking place from 26 January – 1 February 2026.
Independent Venue Week is the UK’s annual seven-day celebration of independent music and arts venues and the people who run them. Since its first edition in 2014, IVW has empowered local music communities, hosting thousands of artists across villages, towns, and cities throughout the UK and the US.
Canned Pineapple, fronted by Irish vocalist Seán Drury and featuring Oakley Gardiner and Gabe Rice on guitars, Sam Cullen on bass, and Charlie Pringle on drums, are currently riding the wave of acclaim following their sophomore EP Big Break (March 2025). Known for their high-energy ‘scuzz-pop’ sound, the band has performed at festivals across the UK, Europe, and the US, including Truck Festival, Y Not, The Great Escape, and Down The Rabbit Hole, as well as appearances on BBC Introducing Live Lounge.
This IVW show at The Apothecary promises to bring Canned Pineapple’s infectious live energy to a local stage, celebrating the spirit of independent music and the communities that sustain it.
WREX are a Brighton-based electro-punk/alt-rock duo — Mae Seaton (vocals) and George Donoghue (vocals, guitar) — who craft a high-voltage blend of electro-charged alternative rock that’s both heart-racing and hard-hitting. Drawing influences from punk, nu-metal, pop, and trance, they fuse styles seamlessly into a sound that’s fresh yet familiar, with nods to While She Sleeps, Faithless, and Linkin Park.
In 2024, WREX joined Millie Manders & The Shutup as main touring support, expanding their UK following through over 30 shows nationwide. They have also supported The Hunna, Hacktivist, HIMALAYAS, Marisa & The Moths, and Pengshui, performing in venues up to 500 capacity. Festival appearances include The Great Escape Festival (official lineup), The Alternative Escape, Wildfire Festival, Northants Rocks, and Icebreaker Festival.
