During the Civil War, Ohio sent thousands of soldiers to fight to preserve the Union. Ohioans served in every branch of the military and fought in every theater of the war.
Battery A, 1st Ohio Light Artillery, known as the Statehouse Battery, keeps alive the memory of Ohioans who served in the artillery during the war. They portray what life was like for Ohio soldiers during the War of the Rebellion. There will be artillery demonstrations and a camp display for visitors.
This is not a presentation that begins and ends at a certain time. Rather, the actors will be onsite from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Presented in partnership with Baltimore Community Museum.
Begin at the open picnic shelter toward the rear of the park.
