Cosmic Christmas

All is merry and bright for the Geminid meteor shower!

Everyone is a fan of a summer night at Balmorhea, but have you ever spent a winter night?

Witness the peak of the Geminid meteor shower on a backdrop of stars we don't get to see during our summer night sky programs! Grab a free hot cocoa/some cookies and settle in to watch dozens of meteors per hour.

We'll take a look through our telescope and tell the stories about the pantheons and planets beyond. This isn't your average star party-

So slow down, lean back, look up, and join us for this Cosmic Christmas display!

- Cost: Free!
- Bring: A blanket or chair to lay back on, a red light flashlight (if possible), and plenty of warm clothing
- Meet: In the pool area. Please park with headlights facing away from the pool and follow the red lights to the telescope
