Kayaking - Level 1 Beginners (Adults)

Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October

Come join us for a fun-filled weekend of kayaking at Brannigan Harbour! This weekend training course is perfect for adults new to kayaking and who want to learn the basics - a fun introduction to the sport in a safe, flat water location, with very experienced coaching staff.

Open to existing club member, or members of the public who can swim and are comfortable in the water. This course is for adults only. (Kids courses are offered separately)

This course consists of two full days Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October, held on the canal at Brannigan Harbour, Ballymahon. You must attend both days.

Course fee (€70) includes attendance on both days and membership of the Inny Kayak Club for the remainder of the year. You must sign up with Canoeing Ireland €30 (not included with course) directly to join the club which will allow you to participate in regular club paddles on the River Inny and elsewhere.

All equipment provided for this course - kayak, paddle, helmet, buoyancy aid. Course provider can provided wetsuits, but if you have your own feel free to bring it along. No wetsuits provided after this training.

What to wear on the water: old runners, wetsuit if you have one, otherwise leggings or tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt (try not to wear cotton as it's cold when wet), non-cotton fleece top. There are no changing rooms at the location, so please arrive in the clothes you plan to wear on the water.

What else to bring:

- Towel

- Set of dry warm clothes and footwear to change into afterwards

- Packed lunch and a hot drink.
