Join us for our September Family Gathering as we dive into In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) with guest speaker Erica Clark, Clients’ Rights Advocate. This session will cover everything from understanding what IHSS is and who qualifies, to the types of services it pays for and when a parent can be paid as a provider. You’ll also learn how to apply, what the approval process looks like, and what steps to take if you ever disagree with the county’s decision.
This free community event will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM in the building behind the main building on the south side, next to the playground area of New Life Church (4201 Stine Road, Bakersfield, CA 93313). Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
Whether you’re just beginning the IHSS process or want a clearer understanding of your options, this gathering offers valuable guidance in a welcoming, supportive setting.
Info: Enjoy light snacks and drinks, connect with other families, and catch up in a relaxed setting.
Info: Clients’ Rights Advocate Erica Clark will walk us through IHSS basics, eligibility, services, parent provider options, the application process, and what to do if you disagree with the county’s decision.
