Summary
After a car crash one fateful night Paul Sheldon is rescued by his “number one fan” Annie Wilkes. Her remote lodging becomes Paul’s home until the snow clears, but obsession takes a turn for the worse when she reads Paul’s latest book. Now kidnapped he is forced to write a sufficient follow up or suffer the consequences. Both life and limb are at stake in this darkly thrilling tale. At the mercy of an off the walls fanatic who can be set off with just a work, how will Paul Sheldon survive?
Roles to be Cast
Annie Wilkes: A woman furiously obsessed with the Misery series of novels written by Paul Sheldon. She is sweet and caring one minute and the next brutal, vicious and emotional. Her attitude can switch on the dime and is very emotion driven.
Paul Sheldon: An author lost in the world. He feels unfulfilled in his writing of the Misery series. Attempting to expand his horizons only led him to Annie, where he has become bedridden and forced to be at her behest. He tries to be calm and collected, but has a layer of sadness lurking underneath.
Buster: The Sheriff of Silver Creek is a kindly soul who is tasked with finding Paul Sheldon. He isn’t dumb, but perhaps he trusts people a little too much.
Important Info: This production contains many scenes of violence, torture, mutilation, and drug abuse.
