The End of life collective here on Bainbridge are sponsoring an exclusive event at the Historic Lynwood Theater on
September 28th, 12:00-3:00pm.
This is a full length documentary film that opened to sold out crowds at the South by Southwest Film Festival this spring, followed by an expert filled panel.
It is the story of Lynda Bluestein: Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD) pioneer and subject of 'Other Side', a documentary about her journey to Vermont after successfully winning a federal suit to use their MAiD law to die on her own terms.
MAiD is legal in WA, but this film shares Lynda's journey across state lines which is at the forefront of expansion of choice by the removal of residency requirements. This film documents what it takes for someone with a terminal disease to navigate the laws and living to MAiD.
This event has been co-sponsored by numerous local and national organizations, including Compassion & Choices, Foster Law Group, Cook Family Funeral Home, Shalom Hospice, Death Differently and Lynda’s Phones, with representatives from End of Life Washington (EOLWA) on the panel.
