Mozart & Mendelssohn

November’s program mixes classics of the late classical and early romantic periods including Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4, inspired by the composer’s tour of Italy. ASO welcomes Pittsburgh Symphony clarinetist Michael Rusinek, performing Mozart’s virtuosic Clarinet Concerto. We then travel to the 20th century with György Ligeti’s Romain folk-inspired Concert Românesc and Scott Joplin’s overture to his once forgotten opera Treemonisha.
