We will depart from Pozzuoli Port arriving in Casamicciola and walking along the sea toward Ischia’s smallest town, Lacco Ameno. On the lungo mare, we will pass by a lovely piazza, shops and markets, beach hideouts, the town’s emblem, il “FUNGO,” the mushroom rock, that tumbled down from the highest point of the island, Mount Epomeo, thousands of years ago.
We can stop for cafe or aperitivo (not included in price) in a lovely garden of the only 5 star resort in Ischia, perched in the far corner of the island after pausing at the Church of Patron Saint Restituta.
We may linger at the magnificent hotel or continue through small neighborhood alleyways to a paved walking path that will take us to the Villa Arbusto where nature and art unite high above the stunning sea views.
Our driver will meet us descending from the Villa and take us up the narrow road to Cantina Tommasone. After a tour of the cantina and aperitivo featuring White and Rose Champagne style bubbly made from Biancolella and Aglianico, we will taste a variety or white, rose and red wines paired with lunch. Vegetarian and GF options available upon request.
Our female winemaker also produces a BIO cosmetic line made from local grapes and we will have a chance to demo her products🍇 We will also have a chance to learn about her newest project, making wine that can last for decades in amphora and selling it in the original type of clay bottles once transported by ship from Ischia to Roman nobility.
Our Island transport will return us to Casamicciola Port for departure.
