Banwell Village Hall has been at the heart of our community for generations, hosting everything from birthday parties to concerts, clubs, and community gatherings. But now, following a recent structural survey, we face some big decisions about its future – and we need your input.
The survey highlighted that within the next 5–10 years the hall will require:
• A new roof
• Insulation throughout
• A complete rewiring
• Full aesthetic updating
On top of this, future fire regulations are expected to come into effect, which the current building would not meet, and the hall also falls short on energy efficiency.
This leaves us with an important choice: should we commit to refurbishing the existing hall, or begin planning for a complete rebuild?
A community meeting will be held to explore these options and to hear the thoughts, ideas, and wishes of the people who use the hall – that’s you, the village. Your voice will guide the committee in creating a long-term plan that ensures Banwell Village Hall is still standing strong and fit for purpose in another 50 years and beyond.
Please rest assured – in the meantime, maintenance will continue, and the hall remains fully open and available for all groups, events, and private hires.
