2025 Catalina Donations

The Catalina Island Marine Institute, CIMI, is a 3-day, standards-based, ocean-learning event. The Institute is housed at various sites on Catalina Island. At CIMI, your child will participate in a variety of outdoor activities, including ocean research, team-building activities, and marine biology and oceanography. Students will live in dorms with other students. Dorms have bunk beds, heat, indoor restrooms, and showers with curtains. Meals are served in a modified family style to promote community and safety.

JCS is sponsoring the cost for students, along with the 3-day/2-night camp experience. This is approximately a $500 value per student, which includes a sweatshirt for each student. It is very rare that public school students are able to attend CIMI's camp without the expectation of fundraising and paying toward the school's cost. If you are able to make a donation to help cover the cost of this camp experience, it would be greatly appreciated. While the recommended donation is $100, any amount will be accepted.
