Dress and equipment guidelines for the OBSTACLE COMPETITIONS:
Dress Code: Boots, jeans, collared shirt (buttonup or polo, long or short sleeved), and hat/helmet required. Chaps or chinks optional. If it's cold, wear a vest or jacket. If it's raining, wear a raincoat. It's Missouri in October. Pack for all temperatures and weather conditions.
Tack and Equipment: No gag bits or mechanical hackamores permitted. Curb straps should be flat and at least 1/2" width. No tie downs or running martingales. Boots and protective leg wraps are permitted. If you have questions, ask!
Scoring: Obstacles will be scored on a scale of 0 to 10. 0 being no attempt made, 5 being average, and 10 being excellent. An exhibitor will get 3 tries to complete an obstacle before being asked to move on.
Exhibitors may ride one or two-handed, but may not switch mid-course unless it's to navigate an obstacle. Extra consideration for degree of difficulty will be given to exhibitors that compete one-handed. Again, ask if you have questions!
This is meant to be FUN. If you have questions, ask!!
