Brett Hurt
Brett is the CEO of Love Conquers Fear, a holding company focused on advancing humanity toward an Age of Abundance for All. He was most recently the CEO and co-founder of data.world, which raised over $150M, became a global enterprise with customers across major industries, and was acquired by ServiceNow in 2024 to power its AI platform.
Previously, Brett co-founded and led Bazaarvoice through its unicorn IPO and two acquisitions, and co-founded Coremetrics, later acquired by IBM for $300M. He and his wife, Debra, also co-own Hurt Family Investments (HFI), which has stakes in 146 startups, 47 VC funds, and multiple philanthropic efforts.
Brett is the author of The Entrepreneur's Essentials and The Lattice, and is writing his third book, Love Conquers Fear: Humanity, AI, and the Age of Abundance for All. His work has earned recognition from Goldman Sachs, the Austin Business Journal, and Silicon Hills News. A Henry Crown Fellow and Aspen Institute Braddock Scholar, Brett holds degrees from UT Austin (BBA, MIS) and Wharton (MBA).
He lives in Austin with his wife of 29 years, Debra, and their two children.
