Baking Classes in the Bakery

Before you select a date, make sure to check out our upcoming baking classes below:

• January 12 – Sourdough Fundamentals
  Get everything you need to start baking sourdough bread, including starter maintenance, the best flours to use, and how to ferment, shape, proof, and bake your perfect loaf.
• January 26 – King Cakes & Galette des Rois
  As Mardi Gras approaches, join us to make a New Orleans-style king cake with enriched yeast dough and a French Galette des Rois— a puff pastry round filled with almond filling.
• February 9 – Baguettes
  Master the art of baking classic French baguettes. You’ll learn techniques for mixing, fermenting, shaping, and baking these baguettes at home, then bake them in our professional bread ovens.
• February 23 – Enriched Breads
  Dive into the world of buttery, eggy, and sweet breads! We’ll make brioche and pain au lait, showing you how to incorporate butter, eggs, and sugar into bread dough. You’ll take home a dough to shape, proof, and bake later.
• March 16 – Irish Brown Bread
  Get ready for St. Patrick’s Day with an easy-to-make Irish brown bread. We’ll also cover scones and soda bread, and toast to our success with a round of stout or Irish coffee!
• March 30 – Pretzels
  Twist up some fun in our pretzel-making class! Learn to mix, shape, and bake signature Bavarian pretzels, and take home your own batch.
• April 13 – Sourdough Fundamentals
  Missed the January class? Here’s your chance to get started with sourdough! Learn starter maintenance, fermentation, shaping, proofing, and baking from scratch.
• April 27 – Conchas
  Join Pastry Chef Michelle Juarez-Flanagan to learn how to make, shape, decorate, and bake these traditional Mexican sweet breads—perfect for Cinco de Mayo! Enjoy a special tequila drink pairing as well.
• May 11 – Special Mother’s Day Baking with the Kids
  Celebrate Mom with an afternoon of baking with her favorite sous chefs. We’ll make and decorate a springtime Bundt cake, with treats, mimosas for the moms, and drinks for the kids. A grazing board and pastries are also included. (Limited to 6 moms with one or two children each.)
