Workshop Description:
This workshop is designed to help you build on the improv skills you already use in your scenework, like "yes, and" and taking risks, and applying them to musical creations. We’ll focus on key elements like song structure, target rhyming, and crafting melodies on the spot—skills you can use even if you’ve never improvised musically before! By the end of the workshop, you'll be confidently creating your own songs, both solo and with others. Whether you're nervous or excited, this is your chance to take the first step into the world of musical improv and have fun discovering your creative voice.
About Ralph Krumins:
Ralph Krumins (Ivories Guy) is an international improv performer, educator, and collaborator with more than 20 years of experience. For the past decade, he has devoted himself to music directing long-form musical improv across Florida, the U.S., and abroad, working with ensembles such as Four First Names, Playback UCF, SAK Comedy Lab, Limboland, Solovela, and many more. In 2022, he launched his solo show, Ivories Guy, where he invites audiences to share true stories from their own lives and then transforms those moments into fully improvised, heartfelt songs on the spot—creating a space that is as playful and collaborative as it is moving.
