Let’s gather at this meeting in support of the freedom to read! Let’s gather at this meeting and take advantage of the opportunity to address the Florida State Board of Education members face to face. They are coming to our area to hear our opinions! We cannot be silent!!
The freedom to read is essential to our democracy. It is continuously under attack. Private groups and public authorities around Florida are working to remove or limit access to reading materials, to censor content in schools, to label "controversial" views, to distribute lists of "objectionable" books or authors, and to purge school and classroom libraries.
The State Board of Education welcomes and encourages public participation at all meetings of the Board. Members of the public may (1) attend a Board meeting in-person and provide public comment on meeting agenda items under the guidelines provided by the Board or (2) provide public comment in advance of the meeting at [

To maintain orderly conduct and decorum at all Board meetings any action that creates disruption, including speaking out of turn or making noises when not recognized, is prohibited. Additionally, no signs, props, or placards, regardless of their message, are allowed in the Board meeting room.
