This class provides massage therapists with the knowledge and hands-on skills to safely and effectively work with prenatal clients. You will explore the anatomical and physiological changes that occur during each trimester, including musculoskeletal adaptations, postural shifts, and joint laxity. You will learn proper positioning and draping techniques for side-lying and semi-reclined positions to maximize client comfort and safety. The course covers contraindications, high-risk pregnancy considerations, and how to adapt techniques for each stage of pregnancy.
Hands-on practice will focus on prenatal massage techniques, targeted gentle stretching, and techniques to address common areas of tension, including the lower back, hips, shoulders, and neck. You will also learn how to utilize intake forms effectively to assess client needs and ensure safe treatment planning.
By the end of the class, you will feel confident applying prenatal-specific massage techniques with precision, comfort, and professionalism. This course is suitable for all licensed massage therapists.
