Join us for a hands-on training led by Dr. Ginger Chew, Senior Scientific Advisor at the CDC, who has led mold investigations after major disasters including Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, Harvey, and Ida.

This training will help you:

  • Understand how mold grows and its health impacts.
  • Learn to identify, reduce, remove, and prevent mold growth.
  • Prioritize repair and remediation of moisture-related damage.
  • Explore ventilation and building design factors that influence mold risks.
  • Gain hands-on experience with mold assessment tools and devices.

Who should attend? Homeowners, renters, landlords, contractors, facilities managers, building operators, volunteers, and anyone looking for practical strategies to address mold damage from Hurricane Helene.

When:

October 23rd

  • Morning Session (9:00–11:00 AM): In-depth discussion for those with prior experience or training.
  • Evening Session (6:00–7:30 PM): Practical tips for those new to mold remediation.

Choose the session that works best for you—only one is needed. Training will be held in the Library Headquarters Meeting Room, first door to the right directly before the main entrance of the library on Telfair St.
