What is Security Onion?
Security Onion is a free and open platform built by defenders for defenders. It includes network visibility, host visibility, intrusion detection honeypots, log management, and case management. Where is the conference being held?
This year's conference is being held at the beautiful Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center (aka Georgia Cyber Center).

Park in the adjacent parking deck. Parking at that deck (and only that deck) is free for attendees. Attendees will be provided one validated parking pass for that deck.
Is there a preferred hotel?
Security Onion Conference uses the same preferred hotels as the BSidesAugusta conference. You can find those here.
What if I'm attending any of the training events 10/20-10/23 associated with BSidesAugusta?
Security Onion Conference will be held in the same building as the BSidesAugusta training classes, so just come back after the last day of your class! ALL BSidesAugusta training classes include admission to Security Onion Conference on 10/24 and BSidesAugusta on 10/25. If you registered for any BSidesAugusta training classes, watch your e-mail for more details closer to the date of the conference. Please note that BSidesAugusta general admission tickets are not valid for Security Onion Conference.

What is the registration deadline?
The last day to register for a General Admission ticket is Friday, October 17.
Please note that NO tickets will be sold at the door. All attendees must pre-purchase their tickets.
Will there be Security Onion training before the Conference this year?
Yes! We are offering Security Onion Fundamentals for Analysts and Administrators, from October 20-23, during BSidesAugusta's Training Week. This year, we are offering a FREE voucher for the Security Onion Certified Professional (SOCP) exam with the class! For more information and a link to register, click here.
What's the refund policy?

Does my Security Onion Conference ticket admit me to BSidesAugusta (or vice versa)?
No. They must be purchased separately unless you are purchasing a training class during BSidesAugusta's training week. Only BSidesAugusta training classes include a ticket to both Security Onion Conference and BSidesAugusta.
