Strengthen your scientific observation skills through the medium of art.
Join us for this interactive workshop, Blending Art and Science, as we delve into methods for capturing what you see in the natural world. This four session program will begin with a presentation about ecology followed by outdoor activities at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Artist, Taylor Scamehorn will guide you through techniques using graphite and colored pencils, sharing how to use color, shape, and texture to document wildlife.

Week 2: Species
Week 3: Communities
Week 4: Landscapes and Ecosystems
No prior artistic experience is necessary. Just bring your creativity and a desire to learn.
Course Information:
• Dates: Saturday, Aug. 2; Tuesdays, August 5, 12 and 19, 2025
• Times: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 2; 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the other three days
• Course Fee: $160 for Sanctuary members; $180 for non-members
