What is Bafa Wubu?
Translating to Eight Energies – Five Directions, this form was created in 2018 by the Chinese National Sports Association as a wellness-focused introduction to tai chi. You’ll first learn the 8 core energies while standing in place, then explore how to move them through five directions: forward, backward, left, right, and center.
💡 It’s simple enough to learn quickly — and short enough that you’re likely to actually practice it on your own (and feel the benefits). Tai chi has been shown to improve balance, reduce chronic pain, slow muscle loss, and support both physical and mental clarity.
