Join us for the 8th Annual Holiday Market and Augusta’s Next Top Dog (A fundraising event for That's What Friends Are For). We will be setting up October 18th at Pendleton King Park (At the Pavilion in the shade), on Saturday, between 8 and 10 a.m., with plans for the competition and judging starting at 11:15 am and wrapping up around 2:30 p.m. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with nine different categories ranging from most glamorous dog to biggest beast. You don't have to enter a dog in the competition to be part of the fun. Spectators are welcome to come and cheer on the participants. Food will be available for purchase and vendors will be there as well so you can get a jump on some early holiday shopping!
So, who will be Augusta's Next Top Dog? It could be a tiny little Chihuahua, a big handsome American bulldog, or your Heinz 57 mix. While we hope people take our dog competition seriously enough to enter their furry companions, we want everyone to realize it is simply for fun and fundraising and isn't a formal competition.
We are looking for great participation in each of the categories, where judges from within our community will rate them with very simple criteria. There will be first place “medals” given, as well as second and third place ribbons for each category. There is a trophy for the overall winner, the Top Dog. There will also be a trophy for the Top Underdog: the rescue dog with the most compelling story.
We will have various vendors, raffle drawings for gift baskets, silent auction items and more.
These are the 8 competition categories: Most Glamorous (female), Most Handsome (male), Best Costume, Biggest Beast (50+ lbs), Tiniest Tot (20 lbs & under), Perfectly Imperfect (disabilities/deformities), Best Senior, and Best Rescue Story
Registration form can be emailed per your request. $25 for first category, $5 for each additional category. Email:
