Kirtan is an ancient form of mantra meditation, a component of bhakti-yoga (the yoga of devotion), which has the power to open and purify the heart. The practice of kirtan is done as a group, in a call and response fashion. Accompanied by instruments and percussion, this collective chanting of sacred sounds allows one’s body to relax, mind to become peaceful, & soul to sweetly reconnect to its source. In its heartfelt expression kirtan can induce profound states of meditation, bliss, and esctasy, and sometimes - even dancing! No experience is ever necessary. Open to all and everyone! That means bring everyone in the family who is OK sitting on the floor and chanting! This is a donation based event - please bring cash to donate the day of the kirtan.
