😍This offering is a continuation of a long and sacred journey between mother and daughter. Beautiful Molly Devine will hold you through her soundscapes. She is a master of her craft. Trust her journey — she will deliver you to openings and adventures while weaving a safe space for exploration, while her equally beautiful mother Liza will lead you with her unique wisdom.

Somatic Dance is a guided free form movement journey, delving deep into the layers of the body and held in a non-judgemental space where all of you is welcome. No prior dance experience is necessary and all bodies are welcome 🤗
There are no routines or steps to follow here, simply an invitation to discover how your body wishes to move. The guided facilitation is supported by a carefully curated soundscape overseen by a DJ 🎶
This dance is an invitation for you to come and move your body to the unique rhythm of you, supporting a deeper connection with yourself and others 💃🕺
This is a space free from alcohol, shoes and talking. Let the epic music and guidance of your facilitator carry you out of your mind and into your body, allowing yourself to experience the transformative power of Somatic Dance! The music takes the form of a wave, beginning gently before building to a peak, then settling back down to land softly and slowly.
We recommend wearing clothes you are comfortable moving in (layers are great), bring along a drink bottle and a drop or two of curiosity!
Our dance spaces are designed for adults to create a space where you are able to freely explore and express your authentic self, in whichever shape and form it happens to be expressing itself. As part of this, we request that alternate arrangements are made to care for any children while you attend. If you have a child you would like to bring along, please reach out to us and we can have a chat about whether it is a possibility 🥰

$20 supported dancers, we want to continue to make our dances accessible
$25 supporting dancers, for those who feel more abundant and are able to support us

💫INTRODUCING💫
🎤 Liza, Somatic Dance Facilitator🎤
Liza Devine is an Australian-born yoga and movement teacher whose journey began in the early 1990s at the Satchidananda Ashram (Yogaville) in Virginia, USA. There she trained in hatha yoga, pranayama, and meditation under the guidance of her Guru, Sri Swami Satchidanda. During this time she also participated in extended silent retreats at the ashram while living in Bermuda with her husband and two children.
After moving to New Zealand in 2000, Liza continued teaching yoga in Christchurch before later relocating to Queenstown. While living there she continued teaching hatha yoga, deepened her practice through training in Yin Yoga, and spent several months in silent retreat with Lama Chokyi Gyaltsen, further deepening her understanding of contemplative teachings and meditation practice.
In 2019 she completed Ecstatic Flow training with Sarsha Hope and Tara Judelle, and began facilitating classes that weave together movement, breath, and music to create spaces for embodied expression, presence, and connection.

Molly Devine is a lifelong music devotee whose journey has taken her from massive festival stages to intimate dance floors of transformation. Having opened for legends such as Billy Idol and The Doobie Brothers, performed with symphony orchestras, and completed a Master of Music, she brings decades of experience connecting with people through music and brings deep musical intuition into every space she holds. A releasing artist in her own right, Molly crafts music as both expression and offering.
Her transition into ecstatic dance DJing was a natural evolution — combining her love of crowd energy with a deep passion for embodied experience. She played a key role in establishing ecstatic dance in Ōtepoti and has facilitated transformative dance floors for hundreds at festivals including Circulation and Revive. A passionate tangata Tiriti currently immersed in te reo Māori study, she approaches her work grounded in relationship to whenua and community. Her sets are dynamic, cinematic and embodied — weaving euphoria, depth and release into a shared ritual of movement.
