🎭 Script to Scene
5-week workshop, starting Monday October 6 (6:30–8:30 PM)
*No class on Labour Monday*
Hosted at Cardboard Comedy Club
From page to stage.
"Script to Scene" is a five-week course exploring how short scripts can become powerful tools for improvisers. By working with pre-written texts, you’ll free yourself from the role of playwright and instead focus on directing, performing, and discovering new ways to bring scenes to life.
Across two-person, group, and solo scenes, you’ll explore how scripts can sharpen your instincts, expand your scene work, and help you play with perspective, tone, and variety. Each week, we’ll build skills that can translate directly into your stage performances while also giving you fresh approaches to improvisation.
Expect to work on:
* Two-person scripted scenes as springboards for improvisation
* Group and solo explorations using short texts
* Playing the same script in multiple ways to expand choices
* Receiving and applying feedback in the moment
* Focusing on the dual roles of director and performer
Each week offers new material and fresh techniques, helping you unlock tools you can use in any improv show or rehearsal room.
