Music in Parks: Blues at Blockhouse Bay

Head on down to Blockhouse Bay Beach Reserve for blues favourites, great stories, and acts guaranteed to get your feet moving. We’ve got the smooth riffs and electric sounds of Sam Fowles, The Flaming Mudcats and The DeSotos for a fantastic night of blues and rock.

Sam Fowles is a groove-driven sonic adventurer whose music weaves a tapestry of psychedelia that moves both body and soul. Sam’s raw voice and blazing guitars tell unflinching stories of hope, struggle, and resilience.

Our "Blues at Blockhouse" line-up wouldn't be complete without The DeSotos, a four-piece band who have cemented their place as New Zealand's leading exponents of the Americana and country blues genres.
