Proudly brought to you by Auckland Council Waste Solutions!
In this workshop, Buffie will teach you basic woodworking and safe tool use. You’ll make and take home a beautiful kauri platter from recycled native wood.
This workshop suits beginners and enthusiasts interested in sustainable, functional art.
You’ll begin by learning how to denail timber then shape, sand, treat, and finish your platter to keep it food-safe and durable. You can personalise it by etching your design into the surface with a soldering iron.
The day starts with a health and safety briefing before tool use.
Tools covered include jigsaw, power drill, and sander.
Please wear covered shoes and fitted clothing.
Some activities may be outdoors, so dress for the weather.
Children cannot attend due to safety rules.
